Looking for something to do this Lent?

-Sacred Heart is offering a Lenten Retreat on the book-

Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist:
Unlocking the Secrets of the Last Supper by Dr. Brant Pitre

This book shines fresh light on the Last Supper by looking at it through Jewish eyes. Using his in-depth knowledge of the Bible and ancient Judaism, Dr. Brant Pitre answers questions such as: What was the Passover like at the time of Jesus? What were the Jewish hopes for the Messiah? What was Jesus' purpose in instituting the Eucharist during the feast of Passover? And, most important of all, what did Jesus mean when he said, "This is my body… This is my blood"?  Inspiring and informative, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist is a groundbreaking work that is sure to illuminate one of the greatest mysteries of the Christian faith: the mystery of Jesus' presence in "the breaking of the bread."

Dates/Times:  Seven weekly sessions will be conducted on Sundays beginning February 4 and continuing through March 24. This retreat involves reading a section of the book on your own each week and then participating in a weekly group session (approx. 45-60 minute meetings).  Sessions will be offered between the Sunday morning masses.  An alternate session may be available for those who need it.

Cost:  The book and all retreat materials will be provided free of charge by the parish for this study.

Breakfast and childcare will be provided for the morning sessions.
